As the world awakens to the vibrant energy of spring, it’s the perfect time to embrace renewal and focus on building a brighter future. At NEF, we’re proud to champion energy education initiatives that empower K-12 students and their families to use energy more efficiently.

Think! Energy features a school-to-home implementation model that combines classroom education with take-home kits.  These programs reliably rank among the most cost effective residential programs for NEF’s utility partners.  But this program is more than a wise investment in energy efficiency—it’s an investment in the future. By partnering with NEF, utilities have the opportunity to engage early with K-12 students, increase community goodwill, and provide families with actionable ways to reduce their energy usage. Through interactive programs and standards based curriculum, students learn the importance of conserving energy at school, then bring that knowledge and motivation into the home.  The program can also be targeted to serve low and moderate income communities, helping to reduce energy burden and increase customer satisfaction.

Moreover, energy education can serve as a springboard for building a career pipeline in energy-related fields. Inspiring students to explore the diverse job opportunities available in the energy sector is a powerful way to nurture the next generation of leaders and innovators. This not only meets the growing demand for skilled professionals in the industry but also ensures a workforce that is passionate about sustainability and committed to driving positive change.

As we spring into action this season, let’s work together to promote energy efficiency and build a brighter, more sustainable tomorrow for all. Together, we can harness the power of education to create a world where energy is used wisely and resources are preserved for generations to come.
