New Year, New NEF

January is a time for planning goals, making resolutions, and setting the stage for the coming year. The National Energy Foundation (NEF) shares this mindset as our teams work to provide new and better programs and services for our partners, students, teachers, and community members.

To start 2024 off strong, NEF recently released a new and improved annual report. Unlike a traditional business report, NEF is enhancing our message by highlighting the empowering stories behind our programs. In this report, you will learn how we’re elevating energy literacy by reading the real impact our programs have. My personal favorite describes how one Energy Safe Kids student recognized the smell of mercaptan in her home, potentially saving the lives of her family members.

In addition, NEF is revving up our workforce development initiatives by creating rEV 2.0. In recent years, utilities have experienced an additional need for new talent as innovative electric technologies, like EVs, hit the market. NEF has recognized this need and developed an elevated rEV program to inspire and educate students on career opportunities in the electric transportation, manufacturing, and energy industries. More to come on this exciting development!

While I could go on and on about the exciting things happening at NEF, I wouldn’t want to spoil your afternoon read. So, I invite you to peruse our 2023 Annual Report (linked here) and subscribe to our quarterly newsletter.

In our newsletter, you can expect to read more stories like the ones described above, meet the people behind NEF, program developments, and more! To subscribe, please enter your email address below in the website footer. We look forward to a year of innovation, education and energy literacy!
